چکیده

This paper discusses the design and integration of a desktop system for electrohydrodynamic jet (E-jet) printing. E-jet printing is a micro/nano-manufacturing process that uses an electric field to induce fluid jet printing through micro/nano-scale nozzles. This enables better control and resolution than traditional jet-printing processes. The printing process is predominantly controlled by changing the voltage potential between the nozzle and the substrate. The push to drive E-jet printing towards a viable micro/nanomanufacturing process has led to the design of a compact, cost effective, and user friendly desktop E-jet printing system. The hardware and software components of the desktop system are described in the paper. Experimental results are presented to validate the performance of the system. 2010 Elsevier Ltd. Generation Electrohydrodynamic Jet (e-jet) Printing System, Parametric Studies of E-jet Nozzles and Integrated Electrode E-jet Deposition by Philip

As electrohydrodynamic jet (e-jet) printing technology developments have increased in magnitude over the past few years, a low-cost and user friendly, high-resolution desktop system was developed at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The original desktop system provided great functionality but it could be improved upon. Along with bettering the hardware of the technology, a more in...

Patterned Polydiacetylene-Embedded Polystyrene Nanofibers Based on Electrohydrodynamic Jet Printing

Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) jet printing is a direct-writing technique which ejects ink through a fine nozzle using an electric field, which has the advantages of high-resolution, rapid printing speed and a wide range of ink selectivity. In this article, the EHD jet printing system is utilized to print patterns of polystyrene (PS) nanofibers. The effect of parameters such as ink concentration, wo...

A multimaterial electrohydrodynamic jet (E-jet) printing system

Electrohydrodynamic jet (E-jet) printing has emerged as a high-resolution alternative to other forms of direct solution-based fabrication approaches, such as ink-jet printing. This paper discusses the design, integration and operation of a unique E-jet printing platform. The uniqueness lies in the ability to utilize multiple materials in the same overall print-head, thereby enabling increased d...

High-resolution electrohydrodynamic jet printing of small-molecule organic light-emitting diodes.

The development of alternative organic light-emitting diode (OLED) fabrication technologies for high-definition and low-cost displays is an important research topic as conventional fine metal mask-assisted vacuum evaporation has reached its limit to reduce pixel sizes and manufacturing costs. Here, we report an electrohydrodynamic jet (e-jet) printing method to fabricate small-molecule OLED pix...
